Ever since the first Microsoft Embedded partner program, Special Computing was there from ROMable Editions of DOS and Windows extenders. Microsoft
CEPC is perhaps the most well-known aspect of Special Computing (thousands sold). Microsoft AutoPC to MSTV to PocketPC were built first on CEPC, with Special Computing offering known-good CEPC to achieve initial out-of-box success (with special mods and pre-configured Platform Builder). Many CEPC configurations are still available to students attending Hands-On Training at Special Computing.

SmartTouch Portable Control System was implemented with a custom Windows CE board support package (BSP), custom bootloader, optimized device drivers, and special test tools provided by Special Computing.
